#6: The Mystery of Overtoun Bridge
When it comes to our pets, people will go to great lengths to protect them. But there are some cases where, no matter how much you try and protect them, they still don’t make it… Never before had there been a case quite as confusing and despairing as the Mystery of the Overtoun Bridge in Scotland. Over 50 dogs have died since the early 1960s, and hundreds more luckily survived after jumping into the abyss beneath the Overtoun bridge.
We know it sounds strange, but these dogs quite literally had an urge to jump at the same spot for many years. The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has tirelessly tried to understand what has been causing these horrible accidents but has had no luck. There are many theories as to why lurks beneath, from theorizing that the bridge is haunted to an irresistible animal scent as well as the idea that there might be a sound that only dogs can hear…
