#35: The Tromp Family Road Trip
When it comes to family, every family has its fair share of problems, but at the end of the day, blood is thicker than water… But what are you meant to do when your family decides to do something strange that you don’t want to do? When the Tromp family decided to flee their home and berry farm in Victoria, Australia, on a Monday morning in 2016, they took all their kids with them for a little spur-of-the-moment road trip. After they were thought to be missing, the police searched their home for clues and found that they had left their house unlocked with all their credit cards and phones inside the house.

If the situation wasn’t already weird, it was later reported that the parents showed signs of paranoia and stress before they left their home. By Tuesday, the family had traveled 500 miles to New South Wales, where their son Mitchell decided to leave and go home. A few days later, the two remaining sisters left their parents but made their own way home, separate from one another. They later filed a missing person report for their parents and were seen to be in a terrible state. All members of the family were eventually found, but the police had no explanation for their behavior other than a “Massive meltdown”…
