#15: The Eight-Day Bride
There is no time more exciting than spending time with your new husband or wife on your honeymoon. Days spent relaxing and doing nothing is all anyone wants after a big party like a wedding. Even though a honeymoon is normally enjoyed just by the husband and wife, some people choose to bring their friends along for the occasion, too… On May 12th of, 1947, Christina Kettlewell married John Ray “Jack” Kettlewell after a 3-year relationship. Jack’s good friend, Ronald Barrie, spent a very noticeable amount of time with the couple and even joined them on their honeymoon…

Many people thought Ronald was in love with Christina, but he denied such claims. The couple spent their honeymoon at Ronald’s remote cabin in Severen Falls, alongside Ronald for their entire stay. Pretty soon after they arrived, Christina started having fits and seemed out of it… And on May 20, Christina disappeared, and the cabin caught on fire. Ronald found Jack inside the cabin, managed to get him to the hospital, and contacted the police. Soon after, Christina’s body was found in the area’s water, raising many questions… The police questioned many people, but the case remains open.
