#28: Thanks, But No Thanks
Trying to understand vintage advertisements is as confusing as trying to understand why the world is round. The fact that these advertisements once existed in the public sphere and were actually successful shows how influential and demeaning a society can be towards a group of people if they really want to be.

Considering that this advertisement was seen in a Playboy magazine, the whole “demeaning” aspect is slightly less confusing… However, if this ad is implying what we think it is, that a woman belongs on the floor, it is absolutely horrifying. Not only that, but the model in this campaign has been stripped of all of her clothes which already implies an element of control.
