The Many Different Times People Saw Curious and Comical Things on the Subway

Many people board the train in costumes of various kinds. Sometimes, we are dressed up as regular office workers heading for their skyscrapers. Sometimes, we are dressed up in stilettos, sparkles, and suits for a big night out in the town; sometimes, we are dressed up as hopeless people endlessly riding the train to escape the emptiness of life.

Yet this photo just makes me want to encourage the normalization of dressing up in the kinds of strange guises that we usually reserve for Halloween or dress-up parties. The brilliance of climbing aboard dressed as “No one” from Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away is simply a gift to humanity.
