#8: Morning Doves
Here’s another amusing example of confusion caused by the English language. English is full of homophones, which means words that sound the same but have different spellings and meanings. And you had better believe that I have gotten tripped up on those more than once or twice.

So, if you had never had occasion to read about mourning doves, it would be a totally reasonable assumption to think that they are just the proverbial and literal early bird, out to get the worm. You definitely won’t be the only one assuming that.
