On February 7, 1961, Jimmy Robinson entered the Miami Beach ring to face Muhammad Ali in one of boxing’s early spectacles. Yet, the man known as “Sweet Jimmy” remains an enigma. No birth date, no full name, no family connections—reporters have unearthed nothing about his life before or after the fight.

It’s as if he stepped out of the shadows for that moment of glory and disappeared into thin air. Robinson’s story, or lack thereof, adds an air of mystery to the already legendary boxing world—a ghostly figure whose life remains a riddle.
